12/08/84 - Condemmed 51596, 51597, 51600, 51608, 51611, 51613, 51624, 51627, 51639, 51640, 51642 and 51649 were noted passing through Wellingborough behind 45 056.

Several parcels DMUs converted from former "Bed-Pan" hydraulic class 127 units stand forlornly withdrawn at Crewe Gresty Lane, with 55979 (formerly 51600) leading the line. Seen on 26/May/1991, some component recovery has taken place prior to their dispatch for scrap, mainly the removal of doors. Three of these units escaped and were preserved. Robert Chilton.
