Photographed in April 1969 W79977 lies at the south end of Millerhill Yard. It was withdrawn from service at the end of January 1968 when passenger services ended between Alloa and Falkirk / Grangemouth and was cut up on site by R B Hepburn in April 1969. John Clark.

A view of Colchester depot late in the afternoon of 22nd April 1989. On the left is Met Camm DMU 54382 + 51438 in which we had earlier travelled to Sudbury, and beyond is a class 312 EMU. On the right are two ex-steam loco tenders converted to snowploughs in the early 1960s ADE330968 and 330977 which lasted another decade or so before being cut up on site here as the last of their type to survive on the network. On 23rd August 1980 the BLS “Lothian & Fife Wanderer” covered a number of freight lines around Edinburgh and Fife, formed of 3 car Met Camm set 51224+59067+50243. I did not travel on this but chose to take some photos, sadly only with a Kodak Instamatic. Here it is seen passing through Newington on the Edinburgh South Suburban line, the station here closed in 1962 and has since been razed to track level. Murray Liston.

The power cars were Leeds / Bradford based most of their lives until late 1987, while the centre car spent most of its life around Tyneside then quite a few years in Scotland before migrating south.
