A two-car Class 104 DMU formed of cars M53460 & M53496 was leading a five-car Blackpool North to Manchester Victoria service stood on the Up Fast at Leyland station on June 11th 1986. The unit was eventually scrapped by Berry's of Leicester in April 1989. Martyn Hilbert.

Class 104 53461, set number 104 452, is seen stabled at Corkerhill on 25.05.1986. This was one of the few Class 104's to be painted into blue and grey, and was also one of the few Class 104's allocated to Scotland. Andy Cole.
