Class 101 DMU set L837 departs from Redhill, date unknown. Closest is presumably 53751, it moved from Neville Hill to Reading in January 1988 and was in NSE livery by June 1989 so this could be circa 1988, and obviously winter. Class 101 DMSL 53751 at Mount Bures on the Sudbury branch and this is thought to be one of the 'Stour Valley Steamer' shuttles on 29 December 1991. Stuart Mackay Collection.

A Metro-Cammell Class 101 Local Passenger 2-car dmu led by M51174 (101/2) in 1960 BR Locomotive Green with 3 yellow stripes along coach sides (as applied by Metro-Camm) and small yellow warning panel at Cardiff (General) on a Birmingham (New St) service, 10/65. Unit 101355, leading car 51174, is seen stabled in one of the centre roads in Sheffield in 1990. This car was allocated to Neville Hill between October 1989 and its withdrawal in September 1990. The unit number relates to its former Scottish Region allocation, though 51174 was originally an LMR vehicle. Tony Walmsley.

A Class 101 DMU at Neville Hill on 22/4/90. Formed of two DMBSs, the closest is 51174 which had been transferred from Haymarket to NL in October 1989. It still carries its HA set number 101355. Rex Holt.

Metro-Cammell Class 101 Driving Motor Brake Second M51175 was stood at Colwyn Bay whilst leading a Manchester Victoria to Llandudno service on May 28th 1979. M51175 would eventually see out its days as part of Regional Railways liveried set 101658 and it was finally withdrawn from service in 2002. Martyn Hilbert.

A Class 101 DMU at Carlisle in 1991. 51175 is nearest to the camera, it was used as a Sandite vehicle based at Leeds Holbeck in 1990/91, partnered with 51180, which is probably the other vehicle illustrated. Graeme Phillips Collection.
