Mechanical DMUs were becoming a bit uncommon in the Shrewsbury area by mid-1987 so I was pleased to take this picture of class 101, set 809 (presumably 53335 + 53319) leaving the town at Sutton Bridge Junction with a Crewe to Swansea service on 25th May of that year. In 2021 most of the semaphore signals survive but the bracket on the right has lost its low-speed arm controlling the entrance to the down loop as the track was lifted some time ago. Peter Tandy.
The 5.18pm Pembroke Dock - Bristol TM at Cardiff on April 25, 1988, comprises Met-Camm set S809. 53335 is closest, presumably with 53319. Michael Mensing.

Class 101 DMU set TS407 (50336 and presumably 59121 + 50309) in Cardiff Central station with the 17:05 from Bristol Temple Meads on 12 April 1980. In the adjacent platform is 43025 with the 16:15 Paddington-Swansea service. Robert Thomas.
Class 101 DMU set TS407, 50336 is presumably closest, alongside the Worcester & Birmingham canal between Five Ways and University with a service to Hereford on 14 July 1980. Neil Smith.
I’m not sure how often West Midlands DMUs made it to Devon but it seems a long way to me and certainly would not have been my preferred choice of transport for such a journey. However, this six car set comprising a Class 116 Derby Triple and Class 101 Metro Cammell Triple (TS403, 53336 and presumably 59114 + 53303) arrived at Exeter St Davids from the north on Monday 16th May 1983. In spite of the “Bristol Temple Meads” destination(!) this very busy train terminated at Exeter and was shunted into the sidings on the up side of the station. My attempts to identify the train from the timetable proved fruitless and it still remains something of a mystery. Brian McDevitt.
Set TS403 (53336 + 59114 + 53303) in seen sitting in Leamington Spa station at 20:19 on Wednesday 24/8/83. Mel Holley.
M53336 + M59120 + M53303 in Derby station on Friday 4 July 1986. David Russon.

M53336 + M53303 at Hooton with the 11:23 to Chester on May 2nd, 1988. Hamish Stevenson.
Alongside refurbished Class 108's & Class 101's, a tidy-looking Class 101 Driving Motor Composite Lavatory (DMCL) M50334 (a three-car set formed of M50334/M59172/M50316) and based at Chester, was stabled inside the depot building at Llandudno Junction on May 26th 1979. Martyn Hilbert.
47507 & M50337 at Worcester Shrub Hill on 01/10/79. Steve Jones.
M50337 (presumably with 59127 + 50314) at Worcester Shrub Hill on 01/10/79. Steve Jones.
Displaying 'Special' on the blinds, M53337 leads three two-car Class 101 sets (the other vehicles being M53222 + M51177 + M54351 + M51187 + M54322) at Stoke to form the 08:48 to Llandudno on 8/6/86. Hamish Stevenson.
