Cars E50576 E59231 E59244 E50574 are seen awaiting departure from Tynemouth with the 10:42 to Newcastle on 10/8/80, the final day of British Rail services on this route prior to conversion to Tyneside Metro system. The platform to the left appears to have been newly reconstructed. These cars were transferred from South Gosforth (GF) depot to Darlington (DN) depot on this date, immediately upon cessation of services on this Tyneside circuit. Graeme Phillips Collection.
