Newton Heath - Noted that units would be delivered June/August, 1959, and Mr.Butland would give estimated date of completion of Newton Heath depot at nxt meeting; the submission of the scheme for this depot to be expedited.
623. SCHEMES AUTHORISED BUT NOT YET IN OPERATION
(1) Manchester Part 2 (S.E.Lancs) scheme
First part of scheme introduced on June 9th, 1958. Remainder of scheme will be introduced as units are delivered in June/August, 1959.
(2) Liverpool Lime Street - St.Helens - Wigan scheme
Delivery of vehicles expected in April/May, 1959. Noted that scheme has been re-examined and will be partially brought into operation on January 5th, 1959 operated by five MC + MC units (surplus from Manchester Part 2 scheme and eventually to be converted to MC + DT units) until such time as units for this scheme are delivered.
(3) St.Pancras Suburban scheme
(a) Rolling Stock - Delivery between April and December, 1959.
(b) Improvements to running facilities between Harpenden and Bedford - Will be completed by September, 1959.
(c) Cricklewood Maintenance Depot - Working drawings for multiple unit portion of shed being prepared. Mr.Butland will look into requirements for workshop, stores and amenities.

Diesel service in steam timings introduced on June 9th, 1958, an augmented service in diesel timings will be introduced on November 17th, 1958.
