The 11:40 Cardiff General-Crewe is seen at Newport on 17 October 1970. The Swindon Cross-Country DMU has W50706 closest, it's regular partners were 59296 (still with "Buffet" and a red stripe) and 50648. A Class 116 DMS leads at the far end. Robert Thomas.

2nd June 1973

0940 Crewe to Cardiff at Ludlow in mid 1973. Buffet car in use on this service and its identification can just be seen in large white letters on the trailer. I am not sure if these buffets were decommissioned in the early 60s then re commisioned when the 120s took over from Loco Hauled services on this route in about 1970 or if they were continuously in use as buffets from when built. 2nd June 1973

Three-car Class 101 DMU set B813 (51463 and presumably 59561 + 51533) arrives at Newport with the 06:00 Crewe-Cardiff service on 20 March 1982. Robert Thomas.

C902 is a hybrid set passing Nantwich with a Cardiff train. The rear 2 cars seem to be class 108? Jonathan Watson.
