A Met-Camm Class 101 DMU formed of 53322 + 53311 stabled at Llandudno Junction on 10 September 1994. They were Longsight allocated vehicles at the time - they would carry their former Reading set number L840 until withdrawal from LO in 2000. Stuart Mackay Collection.
Hamilton depot, 18 April 1981. Closest is a Class 107 vehicle, the odd placement of the overhead flash identifies it as SC52004. On the left is a single suburban vehicle, probably a 116. Stuart Mackay Collection.
101693 (51192 + 59302 + 53266) departs from Dalmeny towards Edinburgh on 11 September 1992. Stuart Mackay Collection.

Not so long after seeing my first Western Region allocated "Metro-Cammell" DMU at Newton Abbot, they started turning up at Hereford - as Cardiff received a few sets. Here is set P802 (presumably 51521 + 59550 + 51449 transferred from LA to BR in June 1975) waiting to leave on a Worcester bound service. It was unusual to see these sets in blue and white livery at this time, though later this became common. John Crooks.
A Birmingham RCW set in Hereford 1975. These DMU sets were never common in Hereford, Tyseley had a couple of sets in the mid-1970s for a short period. John Crooks.
Metro Cammell at Newton Abbot, 30 March 1975. Historically, the Western Region never had any Metro Cammell units - but that changed in the mid-seventies. I think this was one of the first I'd seen so far West, hence the photograph. John Crooks.
Wet day at Cardiff in 1975. A class 37 and an 08 busy themselves with parcels vans, whilst the inevitable "Valleys Set" DMU (set C347) departs for Penarth. John Crooks.
A LMR (Tyseley) based Class 101 DMU set stands in platform 3 at Hereford station ready to return to Worcester or Birmingham in 1975. John Crooks.
Mystery pic! Circa 1973. I have no memory of taking this, or where it is, and the young lady posing at the front is nothing to do with me... All I can say is that it features a Class 120 set C501, wearing a 6000 Locomotive Association headboard, and was obviously taken in failing light... I travelled on 6000 LA DMU tours to Diss (for Bressingham) and Folkestone (for the RHDR), but don't recall any others. Thanks to Kenneth Leiper the station has now been identified as North Camp on the Reading to Guildford line, looking south. John Crooks.
Class 87 No 87002, Metro-Cammell DMSL M50334 and a class 40 wait at Wolverhampton circa 1974. John Crooks.
A rear view of a Park Royal DMU heading away from Llanrwst towards Bettws-y-Coed and Blaenau Ffestiniog sometime in 1972. John Crooks.
A Gloucester "Cross-Country" DMU set arrives at Llanrwst (now Llanrwst North) from Blaenau Ffestiniog in July 1974. John Crooks.
A Class 123 DMU in the bay platforms of Manchester Victoria in November 1979. Hugh Llewelyn.
With the numbers recorded as M50487 + M59147 + M50439 a three-car Class 104 DMU arrives into Manchester Piccadilly station with a service from Whaley Bridge via Stockport in August 1975. Hugh Llewelyn.
A two-car Class 104 DMU formed of M50539 and M56182 departs from Manchester Piccadilly in August 1975. Hugh Llewelyn.
A Class 100 (50355 + 56110) with possibly a two-car 104 on the rear departs from Manchester Piccadilly on a Rose Hill via Bredbury service in August 1975. Hugh Llewelyn.
A Class 110 DMU in Manchester Piccadilly with a Sheffield service in August 1975. Hugh Llewelyn.
A GRC&W DMU flanked by BRC&W DMUs in Manchester Piccadilly. Thought to be taken in August 1975. Hugh Llewelyn.
A three-car DMU departs Marylebone - probably an ECS given the destination blind. Closest is Class 116 DMBS M50861 - there were two three-car sets allocated here at the time - it seems to be working with a 115 TC and 115 DMBS. Hugh Llewelyn.
