Two two-car DMUs in Royton station with the 5.08pm service to Manchester Victoria on 17 February 1966. Closest is a (blue square) Derby Lightweight, the rear set is a different type possibly a Cravens. The station closed two months later. Robert Thomas.

My pal Pete lived near Utting Avenue in Liverpool. This photo was taken nearby in Morella Road as this is the only road which passes under the railway between Utting Ave and Townsend Lane on the Bootle branch. Really we missed many opportunities to photograph steam here. This must have been 1967 as there was now a regular service of about five trains per day running this route. It also stopped at all Southport line stations and was now a class 2 service, 2F55. Edgehillsignallman@Flickr.
