circa late 1960s

Three twin DMUs passing the site of Astley station on the Liverpool - Manchester Line (Chat Moss). All but one vehicle are (blue square) Derby Lightweights. Undated - the early version of the Rail Blue livery on the closest car and the third vehicle from this end, a BRC&W vehicle, is still in green - suggesting late 1960s. Stuart Mackay Collection.

The 16:05 Lancaster - Barrow-in-Furness service arrives into Kents Bank station on 21 June 1968. Formed of a two-car Class 108, the closest vehicle appears to be M56248 at the time allocated to Accrington. Michael Mensing.

45134 backs out of Carnforth station across the main lines with a Class 108 DMU which it will take to the diesel depot at Barrow for repairs. 11 July 1968. George Woods.
