A rare sight at Hereford at this time in 1976 - a Midland Region class 108 unit crosses over to the up line, ready to return to Shrewsbury. A two-car DMU set, almost always a "Central Wales" class 120, did a fill-in turn each evening, from Shrewsbury to Hereford, arriving at 19.00 on the dot... (I don't remember it ever being late !) - on this occasion, the 120 must have failed, or perhaps there was an incident in the wilds of Powys, and this set was turned out instead. John Crooks.
