Manchester Victoria and Guide Bridge Driver Eddy Bright. When I took this on the route learning DMU to Toton, through the cab window of 56116 in April 1982, he was a Guide Bridge driver. It was great fun to work with this man, you can tell by his face that it was usually smiling. Arnie Furniss.

A Class 37 hauling a 2-car Cravens dmu which it had rescued after the dmu failed at Crowland, on the now-closed direct line between Spalding and March, in May 1982. Despite the fact the route was in its last months, there were several manned intermediate boxes with crossovers so the Thunderbird had been able to attach to the front of the train. Tony Watson.

On a warm spring afternoon, 08/05/82, 2-car class 105 DMU (Norwich set 41) approaches Mill Green Level Crossing north of Spalding while working 1P15 the 12.38 Doncaster to Cambridge. Adrian Nicholls.
The 12.38 Doncaster - Cambridge via the GN/GE joint line leaves March on 15th May 1982 formed of Cravens Class 105 set no. 53 E51277 + E56463. On the rear is Lincoln based Class 114 unit E50016 + E56018 which was in a hybrid livery of old and new refurbished paint schemes. E51277 was to last another three years being withdrawn in May 1985.
