North Berwick departure. Met Camm DMU 101346 (presumably 51798 + 59554 + 51532) departs from North Berwick in June 1982. The line into this station had been singled back in 1968 when the adjacent goods yard and engine shed were closed. Three years after this photo, the entire site was razed and given over to housing and a car park, with a new platform constructed where the DMU is seen here. Murray Liston.

Unit 101355, leading car 51174, is seen stabled in one of the centre roads in Sheffield in 1990. This car was allocated to Neville Hill between October 1989 and its withdrawal in September 1990. The unit number relates to its former Scottish Region allocation, though 51174 was originally an LMR vehicle. Tony Walmsley.

Set 101 356 (53253 leading 59696(cl.110) and 51210) is seen in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh, at 17.56 on 26/6/89. The set is returning e.c.s from Cowdenbeath, having worked the 16.15 Edinburgh - Cowdenbeath, and will now form the 18.00 Edinburgh Waverley - Dunbar. Leonard Rogers.
On an overcast July 24th 1981, a three-car Metro-Cam Class 101 DMU formed of cars SC50160, SC59074 & SC50158 was stood at Markinch whilst forming a Edinburgh Waverley service. Markinch station was still furnished with British Railways 1950's Scottish Region light blue enamel signage including Totems on some of the lamp posts. Driving Motor Brake Second SC50160 eventually went on to carry Strathclyde orange livery, and a subsequent transfer to Chester and then Longsight in the early 1990's. The car found fame and fortune when it was repainted in retro BR green for its final years of operation, and has subsequently passed into preservation. Martyn Hilbert.
Class 101 Falkirk Grahamston 1984. Reflections of a bygone era. I'm sure someone must have stolen the BRUTE trolley from another station. Somehow it doesn't fit into the scene here. The Met-Camm is TBSL set 101360, the closest vehicle appears to be 53192. Alistair Ness.
