Markinch station was still furnished with British Railways 1950's Scottish Region light blue enamel signage including Totems on some of the lamp posts. Driving Motor Brake Second SC50160 eventually went on to carry Strathclyde orange livery, and a subsequent transfer to Chester and then Longsight in the early 1990's. The car found fame and fortune when it was repainted in retro BR green for its final years of operation, and has subsequently passed into preservation. Martyn Hilbert.
