101 335 (a 101/101/107 hybrid) pauses at Paisley Canal for one of the last scheduled services to Kilmacolm before the line closed on 8th Jan 1983. The land around the signal box in this photo was sold in undue haste for housing development and although the line reopened as a single track spur to Paisley Canal it is highly unlikely that it will ever reopen as the important through line it once was. The damaged front has been cut away in preparation for repairs to start on Sc 51466 at Eastfield Depot, this really was a job for the Workshops but in an effort to manage costs and see what a depot could do Eastfield undertook the repair themselves, it took several months but a very good job was done and the staff were rightly proud of this.
