 DMU

5th August 1976

This is Skegness station on Thursday 5th August 1976. If my notes from the day are accurate then this Class 114 DMU comprised DTCL No. 56032 (nearest the camera) and DMBS No. 50022, built at BR's Derby Works and new in 1957. The presence of the tail light suggests that the train has recently arrived at the seaside terminus. Tom Harper.

It's erstwhile partner, 56009, was transferred to Tyseley, and then to Chester, and was withdrawn on 24 May 1991. 56009 was scrapped at MC Metals, Glasgow. Lewis Bevan.
