After working a peak hour Manchester Piccadilly-Chinley via Marple service, 'Spa Line' branded former Buxton class 108 power cars, now Chester allocated set CH378 (presumably with 51248 closest) return direct ecs to Longsight depot, decend the Hazel Grove Cord which opened to traffic a few years earlier on the 12th May 1986, to provide a link between the old Midland Rly and the L&NW Rly. 16th June 1989.
