South Kirkby, taken in the long gone 'Pit Yard'. The power car is noted as 977124, so presumably working with 977126 (closest). The photographer was a 'Road learning Instructor' based at Leeds, and the unit was taken into the 'pit yards' so Knottingley men could have a refresh on the railway, because like miners they had done no work for over a year.
