9th March 1981
March 9th, 1981, and a Met Camm set 101323 leaves Haymarket with the 14:25 Edinburgh to Dundee, presumably with 50148 at the front. Bruce Galloway.
9th October 1982
Class 101 & 126 Largs 9 Oct 1982. The Met-Camm is set 101323, presumably 50148 closest. The Class 126, Sc51036 in view, was on the 'Ayrshire Wanderer' railtour. This tour was organised by the Swindon Preservation Society and used the same name as the previous year's BLS tour doing exactly what it said on the headboard. The class also remained in service for a bit longer than planned after the tour which had meant to see them being withdrawn from service the following day. Here we see the train at Largs. A Class 101 and 120 formation at Stirling in September 1986. The leading set is 101323, formed of only one 101 (51251) and two 120s (59580 and 51587). The rear unit is a three-car Class 101. Graeme Phillips Collection.
17th November 1986
53148 is the rear vehicle (closest) on set 101323 arriving at Saltcoats with the 14:15 Glasgow - Largs service on November 17, 1986. It is a mixed livery set, the leading car (furthest, presumably 51224) is in Strathclyde colours, the other two in blue/grey. The centre car is presumably 59567. Hamish Stevenson.
