673.  SCHEMES AUTHORISED BUT NOT YET IN OPERATION

1.  Manchester Part 2 (S.E.Lancs) Scheme

First part of scheme introduced on June 9th, 1958.  Remainder of scheme would be brought into operation on June 15th, 1959.

2.  Liverpool Lime Street - St.Helens - Wigan Scheme

Scheme partially brought into operation on January 5th, 1959.  Anticipated remainder of scheme would be introduced on June 15th, 1959.

3.  St.Pancras Suburban Scheme

(a) Programme for introduction of service

Provisional programme for introduction of diesel service agreed as shown below, and noted no difficulty was anticipated, departmentally, in adhering to this :-

(c) Cricklewood Maintenance Depot

Commission approval given in principle for preliminary expenditure.  Formal submission from departments awaited.  Mr.Baker drew attention to the delay previously reported by the Sub-Committee in getting the maintenance portion complete. Mr.Lambert said work was proceeding on the site and although there was some delay, every effort was being made to finish to schedule.
