632.  SERVICING AND MAINTENANCE ARRANGEMENTS  (Contd.)

2.  Future Priority Schemes  (Contd.)

Chester - Chief Civil Engineer not yet had survey made, but estimate thought to be between £70,000 and £100,000.  Doubtful whether sidings visualised could be accomodated.  Estimate could not be submitted for approval in principle before January, 1959.

Noted that temporary maintenance and fuelling arrangements could be made at Chester.

Accrington - Shot estimate £67,500 but lighting proposals being reviewed.  Draft plan in circulation and Commission Central Staff consulted.

Lostock Hall - Shot estimate £227,500.  Draft plan in circulation and Commission Central Staff consulted.

Nottingham - Shot estimate £85,000, plus £15,000 for outstabling facilities.  Draft plan being reconsidered by Chief Civil Engineer.

Mr.Fiske stressed that to obtain advance authority for the above proposals (excluding Reddish) particulars and shot estimates would require to be submitted to the Area Board and Commission and it was essential that the necessary information be sent to the General Manager with the least possible delay.  It was not necessary for the whole of the five schemes to be submitted together but submissions could be made as individual schemes became ready.
