Eastern Region Timetables 1956 - 1960
When the new diesel trains were introduced the Eastern Region made sure to mention the new rolling stock on their timetables, as did other Regions.
This series which highlighted the 'Diesel Passenger Trains' measured 5" x 7 1/2". Content and unfolded size varied, depending on the number of services in the timetable. I've found single sheet, single, double and triple fold examples giving two, four, six and eight 'pages'.
Where there was a spare page to fill interior pictures were used, all showing Met-Camm Lightweight saloons, the same two images from 1957 onwards. Cover images were Met-Camm Lightweights until 1959 when a Cravens (105) appeared, 1960 saw a Derby Heavyweight (114), and Derby Suburban quads (127) and triples (125) appear on timetables appropriate to the areas they were in service. In 1961 a distinctly different style was used.
There are many gaps in the samples below, and some I only had partial scans. If you can help make this section more complete please get in touch.
The order of the image where there are four pages is outer front, inner left, inner right, outer rear. Shading differences between the same colours is probably due to different storage over the years and being scanned at different times.
