This was from a dark half-frame slide with no details. It shows two Class 128s with vehicles in tow at Shrewsbury, probably in the early/mid-1970s. M55995 is closest, the second one is likely 93 or 94, these three vehicles being allocated to Chester from October 1973. Stuart Mackay Collection.

At Heysham Moss on 5 July 1981 we see 1P90, a 12:15 Heysham Harbour-Accrington charter / relief. The eight-car formation contains a Class 104 twin (M50468 + 50499), a three car with Class 104 DMCL and TCL white stripers with a Class 108 DMBS (M50531 + 59178 + 50944), and another three-car with Class 105 power cars with a Class 104 centre car (M50761 + 59207 + 50794). For many years BR ran a weekday service to the private platform in Rosyth Naval Base. One train a day ran from Kirkcaldy to Inverkeithing in the morning where it disappeared from the public timetable and took dockyard workers down the otherwise freight only branch. One day in August 1980 I took this grab shot of the evening return working heading up the branch towards Inverkeithing where it would continue as a public working to Kirkcaldy. Other than railtours, it was possible to travel the branch once a year on the annual dockyard open day when BR ran 6 car specials from Edinburgh. Tracks are still in situ along this branch although heavily overgrown and disconnected from the main line. Murray Liston.
