Class 117 51373, set number 117210 is seen stabled at Tyseley on 26.12.1993. This was refurbished into Regional Railways as a three car unit with 51415 and 59486, and was numbered 117310, but it is seen here with the centre car removed, hence the set number being 117210. It was later returned to a three car set and was transferred away to Haymarket. Set T207 can be seen to the right. Andy Cole.
L701 (51350 + 51392) at Willesden Junction, having just arrived on a service from Clapham Junction, circa late 1994. This route was electrified a short time later. Sparegang.
Haymarket depot DMU sidings in 1994. There are three Pressed Steel sets (including 117213 - presumably 51339 + 59492 + 51382 - and 117301 - presumably 51353 + 59505 + 51395) all idling. There are at least two Regional Railways liveried Met-Camm centre cars to their right - probably left behind from the three-car sets that moved to Corkerhill as two-cars. To their right are Strathclyde liveried 107s. S Saunders.
Haymarket depot DMU sidings circa 1994 contains 117306 (presumably 51411 + 59521 + 51369) and 117314 (presumably 51352 + 59489 + 51394), amongst others. S Saunders.

L702 (presumably 51356 + 51398) at Bletchley on 22 January 1994. At the time the Bedford service was mainly bubbles cars but 2-car sets would be used for the schools traffic. AndrewHA.
This is the 10.12 from Stratford-upon-Avon to Leamington Spa at Hatton on 22 January 1994 formed of 2 car 117213 (51382 + 51339). First generation DMUs were very thin on the ground by this time around here so well worth recording. Peter Tandy.
Bound for Barking set L722 (51387 + 51345) halts at Walthamstow Queens Road in October 1994. Ian Buck.
The roadbridge at Cape Road, Warwick was a good shot for southbound (up) trains in the morning. I stopped here on 8 February 1994 despite it being a cold and misty morning for a shot of 117213 (51382 + 51339) working the 10.12 Stratford-upon-Avon to Leamington Spa train as it slowed for Warwick station. The change of gradient behind the train is obvious in this image and marks the start of the 1/110 climb to Hatton. In steam days a banker or two would have been ready for work in a bay at Warwick station to give northbound freights a shove to Hatton station where they would drop off, cross onto the up line and return southwards. Peter Tandy.

Class 117 DMU sets L722+L703 at Braunstone Gate Sidings, Leicester on February 19, 1994. Doing what the BLS (Branch Line Society) did best crunching the rust on sections of the network rarely reached by other railtour operators. Here class 117 DMU sets L722 (51345+51387) & L703 (51359+51401) coupled behind disgorge their passengers into the remnants of Leicester Braunstone Gate Sidings for a photo stop on the "Radlett Roundabout" railtour. This line being the former Great Central Railway route into the city from the south but truncated as a branch after the Beeching closures, its final days being to serve Vic Berry's scrapyard using a curve added by BR in 1965 off the Coalville freight line linking the former Midland and GC lines together. The whole area has since been redeveloped with no trace of the railway remaining. Adrian Nicholls.
