A two-car Class 110 and a two-car Met-Camm at Kirkham Abbey on the 26th of April 1987 on the 14.35 Scarborough to York service. The KDH Archive.

26th September 1987

A two-car BRCW Class 104 DMU formed of cars M53468 & M53494 was passing the District Civil Engineers sidings located in the former goods yard at Kirkham & Wesham, whilst working a Blackpool South to Colne service on September 26th 1987. The well-worn unit was withdrawn from service at Chester in September 1989 and was scrapped by Berry's of Leicester in 1990. The Brake Van on the left of this scene was B950136, an LMS type that had been built by BR in 1950. Martyn Hilbert.

3rd September 1988

A three-car Class 101/110 Hybrid DMU formed of Class 101 Driving Cars M51808 & M51799 with a former Calder Valley Class 110 Centre Trailer Car, M59694, had just passed through Kirkham North Junction with a Blackpool North to Manchester Victoria service on September 3rd 1988. This was the period when due to ongoing problems with the Class 142 fleet, various combinations of surviving First Generation DMU's were cobbled together to keep services running. Martyn Hilbert.

Set: 101665

In a scene now radically altered by the addition of a new platform, a new road bridge, removal of the station avoiding lines and electrification and resignalling, a pair of Regional Railways Metro-Cammell Class 101's 101665 (54393 & 51429) & 101680 (53163 & 53204) were passing along the Up station avoiding line at Kirkham & Wesham with the 10.00 Blackpool North to Manchester Victoria service on Saturday August 5th 1995.
