Slaggyford Halt, on the Haltwhistle-Alton line in the evening of 4/10/73, with a 2-car DMU arriving. This line closed in May 1976 but a narrow-gauge railway, the South Tynedale Railway, now runs along part of the branch. David Christie.
The 3.34pm Haltwhistle - Alston service is operated by a Met-Camm DTC / GRC&W DMBS hybrid set (both with window bars on the passenger doors), seen one mile south of Slaggyford on 27 June 1968. Michael noted this was the first train of the day due to a Work to Rule on the system. Michael Mensing.
