L702 (presumably 51398 + 51356) drawing to a halt at Kempston Hardwick on 09 07 1998. Following the closure of the numerous brick works in the area during the 70's and 80's, the halt saw very little traffic other than a few hardy souls 'commuting' to Bedford. Paul Fleet.

At the little timber platform of Kempston Hardwick 56148/50391 departs for Bletchley with the 16.00 from Bedford on 14 February 1981. the lighting on this little station platform consisted of two tilley lamps, this one unfortunately has had it's lantern glass broken. Kempston Hardwick was one of 3 halts opened in 1905 for the steam railmotor service, the other two both closed in 1949 after having their services suspended for the war in 1941, they were Wooton Broadmead and Kempston Elstow.
