The Poynton Parish Puffer charter pulling into the Cold Store Sidings at Stratford-upon-Avon on 29 June 1985, formed of Class 108 BX496 (51947 + 59155 + 52062) and Class 104 BX480 (53420 + 59152 + 53474). These sidings were mostly used for the overnight stabling of units in the days when the station had its own crew of drivers and guards. A special working such as this would usually have gone into platform 3 because the pattern of trains from Birmingham and Leamington Spa required just two platforms. However on this day another special, with 46229 Duchess of Hamilton in charge, was scheduled.
