Keswick Railway station was situated on the Cockermouth, Keswick & Penrith Railway. As a result of the Beeching plan the line beyond Keswick closed on 18th April 1966. The single track branch line from Penrith lingered for another 6 years until British Rail decided to close it on 6th March 1972. The main station building is a grade II listed building and has been re-used, the island platform complete with infrastructure was demolished to make way for a car park. This picture is undated but would have been circa 1971, it shows a class 108 dmu waiting to return to Penrith.
