Details

The new order for the Looe branch has just arrived at Liskeard station on 23 February 1988, ECS from Laira formed of recently transferred Class 101 Met-Cam power, and guards brake, twin E53165+E51246 running as set P825. Interestingly enough until being reallocated to Laira a few months ago, neither car had been based south of Leeds since new - over 30 years previous!

Notice the sign pointing to the Buffet at the station exit - I can't believe Liskeard had a Buffet ...

As E50165 it was new to Bradford Hammerton Street on 1 January 1957 together with its original partner E50169. Staying with the Eastern Region at GF, DN, and HT for over thirty years, it finally departed for pastures new on 21 November 1987 when it was reallocated to the Western Region at LA. Transferred away to LO on 24 May 1992, it was to last exactly a year before being taken out of traffic, with withdrawal coming almost a month later on 23 June 1993. It was scrapped by MC Metals at Springburn.
