A three-car Metro-Cammell Class 101 DMU formed of cars 51512, 59093 & 51500 (829), was stood at Starcross with an Exeter St Davids to Paignton 'all stations' service on May 30th 1989. The unit was one of several first generation DMU sets allocated to Plymouth Laira for services in the West Country following the transfer of the Class 142 'Skipper' units in 1988.
