Not the best quality image but I've included it here as I have so few centre car images in green. Class 110 TS 59696 at Scarborough, at one time it carried an NE prefix, but in this view the N has been painted out. Ian Francis.

The vehicle is mentioned in the following images:

DMU

Date: 23rd August 1986

Having left Edale heading towards Manchester and about to plunge into the 2 mile 182 yard Cowburn Tunnel in the Hope Valley on 23rd August 1986, a 1961 built BRC&W built "MetroTrain" branded class 110 'Calder Valley' 3 car dmu set, this one being E52085 + E59696 + E52069, these were not common through here, indeed I'm sure this is the only shot I have of one! The last of the class were taken out of service in October 1989 but by then they were no longer common in the Calder Valley. Andrew J Crowther.

Date: circa 1987

Set number: 356

Trainspotting 101: The Metro-Cammell Diesel Multiple Unit. A (near) clean sweep for the ubiquitous Class 101 units at Haymarket c 1987. Set 356 has a 110 centre car (59696) and the nearest unit on shed seems to have borrowed Class 107 centre car. Andrew McConnell.

DMU

Date: unknown

Set number: 356

Set 356 heading out of Glasgow Central circa late 1980s. Formed of two Class 101 DMBSs and Class 110 centre car 59696, the furthest DMBS is probably the permanent DMBS 53253, the closest a temporary replacement and probably 51210. Andrew McConnell.

DMU

Date: unknown

A hybrid Haymarket 3xx set 3-car set with two Class 101 power cars and a Class 110 centre car. Date unknown, probably mid-late 1980s. Seen about 1/2 mile east of Hartwood, heading towards Shotts. The HA castles on the power car seems to have been unique to set 356 (they were normally on the centre car) so this would make the vehicles 53253 + 59696 + 51496. Andrew McConnell.
