E56019 and E50019 are seen in Birmingham New Street on September 15th, 1962, forming the 4.23pm service to Derby. The DTC has an unusual shape of whiskers, the DMBS has two exhaust pipes, not the joined box Derby vehicles normally had in this era. Both vehicles carry electrification flashes. Michael Mensing.
E56019 heads a Class 114 set in Bingley station on 5th February 1977. Rex Holt.
E50019 receives some attention from fitters at Birmingham New Street on September 15th, 1962. It is seen at around 3.50pm after arriving from the Leicester direction with E56019 and a three-car Cravens set. Michael Mensing.
A couple of slightly unusual Derby Heavyweight units at Grantham in August 1971. On the left E56019 carries an early version of the rail blue livery with just a yellow panel and the BR logo on the cab door. On the right the set of formed of two DMBSs with a Met-Camm centre car inbetween (E50018 + E59542 + E50003). Mel Smith.
