M50796 leads a three-car Cravens set near the west side of Stockingford tunnel (Arley / Ausley area) with a Leicester service in late 1965. Michael Mensing.

Class 105 DMU at Birmingham New Street

15th October 1966

On October 15th, 1966 a three-car Cravens set leaves Birmingham New Street with a Derby service, M50796 at the front. Michael Mensing.

Class 105 DMU at Appley Bridge

23rd August 1980

On 23rd August 1980 M50796 heads a 4-car formation from Southport to Manchester Victoria, arriving at Appley Bridge. The linoleum works in the background dated from 1898, but had ceased production and was demolished the following year. Records show that the works, and a corn mill previously occupying the site, were rail connected from 1883 until July 1967. S Gaskell.

23rd August 1980

After depositing its passengers at Appley Bridge, Newton Heath based 50796 prepares to lead its service eastwards on 23rd August 1980. The 4-car formation was on a Southport to Manchester Victoria working. Dating from 1957, this unit was nearing the end of its life, being withdrawn in December 1982, and scrapped by Vic Berry of Leicester in 1984. S Gaskell.
