The contract with the British Transport Commission was number 232-100-449 dated 26th February 1959 for the 20 NER sets and 232-100-656 dated 13th January 1961 for the 10 LMR sets.[1]

Unknown.

The order numbers are taken from this London Midland Region document dated 17th August 1961 which did not mention the Western Region Class 118s.

The works order numbers were noted on the works drawings, which I've highlighted on the sample below (which they sometimes got wrong!).
