The vehicle has a stretcher window (the first passenger window) and orange curtains only in the front saloon. Coasting down towards New Mills South Junction is a six car Swindon Cross-Country class 120 dmu formation, headed by M51793 + M59684 + M51785 with a returning summer Saturday Skegness - Manchester Piccadilly working. These units were not common along here, it's possibly the only time I saw one here! 7th September 1985. Andrew J Crowther.
A Swindon Cross-Country set (power cars are 51794 and 51782) approaches Taynuilt with an Oban bound excursion on 17/05/60. A portion had been detached at Crainlarich for Fort William, the passengers would travel by steamers between the two locations to do a circular tour. Michael Mensing.
