Now this is a rare bird, out of the 302 BRC&W class 104 units to be built, this is one of only 15 DTCL's to be built. A line up of Buxton allocated Derby built class 108's at Buxton on the 20th April 1988, with the one on the left making a smokey departure from platform 2, the destination blind unusually showing Oxford Road, all services at this time apart - from an early morning sevice to Irlam - terminated at Manchester Piccadilly. On the right is set BX374 (presumably 51568 + 59183 + 51935) and in the middle BX373 (presumably 53932 visible), the set on the left carries no set number. Andrew J Crowther.

Set BX371 stands at Buxton Station on 30/12/1988. Individual vehicle numbers were not noted at the time, but the leading car of this 3-car set is believed to be 53925 from the damage above the roller blind. The other cars are believed to be 59155 (centre) and 52039 (driving) Robert Hope.
