The lines to the right are the closed Woodhead route, the unit would have travelled via the now closed line from Sheffield Victoria. The present Huddersfield Sheffield service is routed from Penistone via Barnsley and Meadowhall. It is a lot more frequent than the occasional service then. John Carter.

A Met-Camm set at Marsden, West Yorkshire on 15/11/1986. The formation is noted as including cars E51496 E53136 E53182. The closest car has a Tyne & Wear PTE logo, so has either strayed from the north-east or has recently transferred to Yorkshire. Is the set arriving at the station, displaying red marker lights? Graeme Phillips Collection.
A hybrid Haymarket 3xx set 3-car set with two Class 101 power cars and a Class 110 centre car. Date unknown, probably mid-late 1980s. Seen about 1/2 mile east of Hartwood, heading towards Shotts. The HA castles on the power car seems to have been unique to set 356 (they were normally on the centre car) so this would make the vehicles 53253 + 59696 + 51496. Andrew McConnell.
