1. The Chairman explained that the purpose of the meeting was to arrange for the first of the five rail buses, being constructed by Messrs. A.C. Cars of Thames Ditton, to be brought to Marylebone Station for inspection of February 13th by Members and Chief Officers of the Commission, and by the Press. Also, to arrange for two short demonstration runs, one for the Press and one for Members and Officers of the Commission.
2. Mr. Sidney said the vehicles would be ready for handing over to British Railways (W.R.) on or about January 30th. Brentford was suggested as the most suitable transfer point. Mr. Sidney and Mr. Hall will arrange. (note - Brentford crossed out and Southall written in in pencil)
3. Attention was drawn to the fact that at present it was not know of the vehicle is capable of operating track circuits and detonators. Tests to check these points are to be carried out by the S.& T. Engineer of the Western Region. Mr. Hall will advise Mr. Knight and Mr. Parrish result of tests. It was agreed that even if the vehicle is not capable of operating track circuits, etc., special arrangements could be made to enable the demonstration runs to take place. Mr. Parrish and Mr. Saunders will make the necessary arrangements.
4. The Chairman asked for the vehicle to be at Marylebone on the morning of February 12th so as to enable it to be thoroughly cleaned. Mr. Hall will arrange for the passage of the vehicle to Marylebone and Mr. Saunders the cleaning.
5. It was agreed that the inspection be held on Platform 4, which will also serve as the departure platform for the demonstration runs.
6. Mr. Saunders will arrange for an enclosure to be erected on Platform 4 and for steps to be provided from track to platform at north end of vehicle.
