An unusual sight in Eastfield depot in August 1973 was Class 126 DMBS Sc51034, possibly there for tyre turning. Alistair Ness.

A grubby SC51050 about to depart Stranraer Harbour station with the 1134 service to Glasgow Central. It had previously worked the Glasgow Central (dep 0830) to Stranraer (arr 1109). Robert Hope.

Class 126 units cross at Pinwherry, Ayrshire, on the Stranraer to Ayr line on 04/08/1973. Tokens are being exchanged with the southbound train to Stranraer (unit number unknown). The photograph is taken from Class 126 SC51050 which was working the 1134 Stranraer to Glasgow service. Pinwherry crossing was located between Barrhill and Girvan but has been closed for many years. I would appreciate if anyone can identify the unit number. The broken glass may help. Robert Hope.

A Class 126 DMU arrives into Stranraer Harbour stationon 9 August 1973 with the 17:25 ex-Glasgow Central. Set number 115 can just be seen in the left cab window, and the reading lamps on the luggage racks can also be seen. BRC&W type 2 5380 is on the left, it would become 27 102 then 27 046. The remains of Class 126 DMS Sc51011 are recovered at Bellahouston on 31 August 1973. It had been struck by an EMU the previous evening while working the 9:10pm Ayr – Glasgow Central service, the rear car of the DMU ending on top of the EMU (seen behind the cranes) which then caught fire. Unknown Newspaper.
