Sun 20 Apr 1975 at 16:04. A GRCW 3-car Cross Country dmu set near Warminster forming [1V28] the 15:40 Salisbury-Cardiff Central. The handle of the tail lamp obscures the last digit of the st number but it could be B578 (W51064, W59423 and W51092). Mr Deltic.

13th November 1976

Birmingham University, West Midlands, 13th November 1976. A new station was opened to serve the university & Queen Elizabeth Hospital after I had left but on one of my many visits I captured a Class 119 diesel multiple unit train heading south (probably to Redditch) through the partially built platforms. The Worcester & Birmingham canal on the right parallels the railway out to Kings Norton. In the distance is the Pritchatts Road overbridge from where the previous telephoto shot was taken 3 months earlier. Today the route is electrified as part of the Cross-City Line. Pete LG99.
