Birmingham University, West Midlands, 13th November 1976. A new station was opened to serve the university & Queen Elizabeth Hospital after I had left but on one of my many visits I captured a Class 119 diesel multiple unit train heading south (probably to Redditch) through the partially built platforms. The Worcester & Birmingham canal on the right parallels the railway out to Kings Norton. In the distance is the Pritchatts Road overbridge from where the previous telephoto shot was taken 3 months earlier. Today the route is electrified as part of the Cross-City Line. Pete LG99.
