C480 (51312/51327) was returned to CF after a short spell a HT minus it’s Valley Train adornments, they were put back on (one end only) later by Canton staff. Cardiff Queen Street, 29/8/89. Mac Winfield.

A suburban DMU at Maidenhead sometime in 1986. Closest is Class 118 DMS W51319, which had become a spare power car after W51304 had been withdrawn 1985, which may account for the unusual placement of the set number, with a stray L in the normal position, and L413 added below. This suggests the other vehicles are presumably 59501 and 51349. John Law.
Set L417 has one of Reading depot's spare vehicles, Class 118 W51319, in place of its regular DMS when seen at West Drayton on October 1, 1987. The two NSE vehicles are 59506 and 51354. Malcolm Clements.
Class 118 set L468 (51325 and presumably 59471 + 51310) about to depart from Tenby on 1st June 1985. It had been transferred to Bristol Bath Road on 11 May, officially from Laira but it had been working from Reading earlier in the year where it gained the L prefix despite not (recorded as) being allocated there.
