It was not unusual to see a class 115 driving motor and a class 108 driving trailer made up into a two-car set, but in this case it is interesting to see that a class 108 DTCL has been inserted in the centre of a non-gangwayed class 115 4-car set in place of one of the normal trailers (next to 59747). New meets old at Barmouth in September 1986 when first generation DMUs such as the Derby class 108 (car number M54500) were giving way to new Class 150 "Sprinter" units such as 150140 on the Cambrian route. Bob Belcher.

No details were on this slide. It shows a two-car Class 108, M56502 closest, the slide process date was April 1980. The JN Miller building behind identifies it as Wolverhampton, and Wolverhampton High Level is on the destination blind. The vehicle was allocated to Chester at the time. Stuart Mackay Collection.

Class 108 set LO280 (presumably 54504 + 53971) leaves Shrewsbury Station about 09.45 on the 27th February 1992, working a Chester to Wolverhampton service. Another Class 108 is in the sidings on the left, set number S947, with what appears to be 51567 closest. Dave Gommersall.

E59245 on Ayr shed. It was transferred from Heaton to Eastfield in early October 1987, and would initially run between DMSs 52053 + 52059 which had been at Ayr for a few months but would also move to Eastfield. The vehicle has very recently been repainted, but still has an E prefix, perhaps suggesting that the inter-regional move was not planned. The Met-Camm centre car alongside seems to have a scotty dog on the bodyside. Andrew McConnell.
