Two Derby suburban triple DMU sets seen at "Rhondda Cutting", Pontypridd circa mid-1958. It carries a plate with its diagram BB, this left Barry at 05:35 for two morning trips to Treherbert, followed in the afternoon by two trips to Merthyr, after the second of which the return run was through to Llantwit Major, a total of over 280 miles. Although this station, built by the TVR in 1840, consisted of one (very large) island platform, it somehow contrived to have no less than 7 platform faces, making it the longest on the GWR.
