This is a panorama of Monument Lane, just north of Birmingham New Street. The station closed in 1958 but is still basically intact although in dreadful condition. About to pass through is a Birmingham bound class 104. The 6 road carriage sheds were used to stable DMU sets at this time. Behind the wall is the Birmingham to Wolverhampton canal, although most commercial traffic had finished it was still possible to see horse drawn boats loaded with rubbish that worked to the Tyseley incinerator.
