A Metro Cammell dmu on the 'Buchan Belle' railtour at Ellon, 01-06-1974. It was formed of 51457 + 56392. Gordon Thomson.

16th April 1979

On Easter Monday 1979, the Branch Line Society ran its "Waterloo and Buchan" railtour from Aberdeen to Waterloo, Maud, Fraserburgh, Strichen and Ellon. Class 122 single railcar SC55007, marked as set 178 on one end, was used. Passenger services were withdrawn here at Ellon in 1965, and freight services has ceased in 1978, although they still operated through to Fraserburgh, with the line closing in October 1979.
