A 4 car dmu (one Met-Camm and three BRC&W vehicles) heads towards Sheffield, past Ecclesfield West signal box on the former Midland Railway Barnsley line around 1965. The line to the right is the former Great Central railway through Ecclesfield East. The station building can be seen to the right of the signals, further right is the scrapyard of W E Smith where a number of steam locomotives were cut up. Paul Braybrook.

This Leeds to Sheffield Class 114 DMU has just passed Ecclesfield West and is running parallel to the former Great Central route via Ecclesfield East, whose tracks can be seen to the right.
