A Scottish Region publicity image (negative 5830) showing a Swindon Inter-City DMU ascending Cowlairs Incline and going under Keppochhill Road bridge as it heads away from Glasgow Queen Street. This is probably circa early 1957, the six-car train is in a 3+3 formation rather than what would become the normal 2PC + 2CC + 2PC layout, and neither has a buffet car. Note also the Glasgow - Edinburgh sideboards. Image courtesy of the AA McLean Collection. British Railways.
Vehicle: 53158 Set: 101360
Passing Class 101s on Cowlairs Incline on 24 April 1984. 101360, 53158 closest on the rear, heads upwards, away from Glasgow Queen Street, while 101326 rolls downhill, presumably with 51527 leading, towards the terminus. Stuart Mackay Collection.
