Class 101 Met-Cam DMU set C804 (presumably 51452 + 51523) on a Swansea-Shrewsbury service via the Central Wales line, as seen from the cab of 47204 between Dorrington and Church Stretton on the return run of the Albion tanks from Albion oil terminal to Hereford. 20th April 1985. Paul James.

Class 149 (later a 121) DTS W56289 was allocated to Cardiff from December 1973 till May 1975 and sometime during that period it is seen working with one of Canton's two-car Class 120s at Church Stretton approaching from the Shrewsbury direction. John Clark / Adrian Sutterby Collection.

Vehicle: 51931 Set: S944
On Friday 27th May 1988 2 car DMU S944 (51931 + 52055) slows for its stop at Church Stretton with the 15.15 Crewe to Llandovery Central Wales line working. Notice the very unusual up and down semaphores and the loop behind the signal box. By 1988 the box was never (rarely?) in use and the loop had been disconnected but make an interesting photo, despite the fact I was using ORWO colour slide film of poor quality! Dave Gommersall.

Class 108 DMU set S943 arrives at Church Stretton Station just as 155 317 departs at about 09.25 on the 1st March 1990. The Derby set was going to Swansea via the Central Wales route, whilst the class 155 was on a Cardiff Central to Liverpool Liverpool Street working. There was almost 30 years difference in age between the 2 units. Dave Gommersall.
