Forming a late-afternoon service from Blaenau Ffestiniog to Llandudno Junction on 7th May 2001, Metro-Cammell class 101 'Heritage Green' DMU 53164-53160 approaches the southern portal of the 2.5 mile-long (4 kilometres) Ffestiniog tunnel, constructed by the L&NWR between 1873 and 1879.
